The Regional Health Care Steering Committee is an ad-hoc committee that has been established to enable our health care community to partner with the Board to address the critical need of the health care industry for skilled, qualified workers. It has identified the following goals for consideration by the Workforce Investment Board:

• Increase the number of incumbent workers pursuing careers in health and human services.
• Increase the enrollment in health and human services educational schools and colleges.
• Increase the utilization of the existing workforce development system to connect workers to the industry.
• Increase the number of workers in Acute Care, Long-term Care and Residential Care.
• Sustain the health care initiative with additional funding streams.
• Increase the number of health and human services workers remaining in direct patient care roles.
