Purpose:

The South Central Workforce Investment Board (SCWIB) Industry Cluster Initiative seeks to align workforce, economic development and educational investment to support the region's key industries and ensure their long-term success.  The Industry Partnership Worker training initiative is funded by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Labor & Industry.

Who can Participate?

To participate in SCWIB-sponsored industry partnership worker training, the following are required:

  • Industry Cluster Employers must be located in the following counties: Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Lebanon, Perry and York.
  • As defined by the Dept. of Labor & Industry guidelines, industry partnership worker training participants must be currently employed in a targeted industry cluster, including Logistics & Transportation, Building & Construction, Advanced Materials & Diversified Manufacturing, and Health Care. If you are unsure whether or not you qualify to participate, please contact Carrie Kutney @ (717) 920-7097.

An employer one-to-one match is required. This normally has been defined as paying an employee wages/benefits while participating in training. Alternative options are available.

Training Class Attendance Priority

  • Consortium Members
  • SCWIB-sponsored industry consortia member companies
  • Non-Consortium Members (located in SCWIB Region)
  • Other Workforce Investment Board-sponsored company

Others  (please specify for evaluation)

Deliverables:

Upon completion of the course, the participant will be provided the following:

  • Consortium Certificate of Completion, where applicable
  • Recognized Credential, where applicable (ex. CDL license, OSHA 30 etc.)

Fee for Training

The fee for training differs for each consortium.  Fees will be detailed in each class summary.

Terms of Registration

The Industry Partnership Worker Training ("IPWT") classes are funded through a Pennsylvania Dept. of Labor & Industry grant under the South Central Workforce Investment Board ("SCWIB").

Whereas, the SCWIB is acting as fiscal agent and has entered into agreement with coordinators and vendors to administer and deliver the training classes. Under condition of the IPWT grant, the training participant and employer commits and agrees to provide the following information at the time of registration: Company Name & Address, Employer FEIN, Industry Code, Phone, Fax, and County Location, Supervisor Name, Title & Email, Training Participant Name, Social Security Number, Email and Wage/Salary Information. This information will then be provided to the Dept. of Labor & Industry as requested.
